Mission: Blade of Deceit
Location: Various
Timeline: Memory Post

ON:

Sabastian swam in and out of consciousness. He heard the disruptor fire and the Klingons who had been questioning him were now gone. He was thankful for that small miracle.

He swore he heard Kormoth’s voice and even the Doc’s. There was another familiar voice…the voice of Karri and then Poe. Perhaps a hallucination? He wasn’t sure.

As the sounds kept getting closer and the darkness was creeping in his mind went to the rescue ship and his time with Hunt and Karri.

A Few Days Ago...

Walker found Hunt not long after the second run began. He smiled. "Hunt....how's it going?"

"It's going quite well," Malcom answered. "Just about to get underway. Any idea who will be going with us?"

Karri walked in the area and smiled at the pair. "Hello." She said

"Hey." Malcom was happy to see the next in their party to arrive. "Guess that answers my question."

Walker smiled back. "Hello Karri." He looked at both. "Alright you all will focus on the first run. Hunt you get any wounded on your ship. Then women and children." He turned to Karri.

"Karri you get women and children. And then any elderly. The Klingons are taking the able bodied. That will mean that we won't get all the women, and Kids, and Vulnerable off during first run but we'll get them all after." He looked around. While your fellow crew are loading the shuttle. We need to do a run to the bridge to download any and all sensor logs."

"Alright then," Hunt acknowledged.

"Understood." Karri nodded. "Women and children first. And then sensor logs."

"We've got people loading the shuttles. They will stay here to help until the final run." He looked over at the two. "Remember when flying back. Stay within the markers. Now while the shuttles are loading let's get to the bridge of this ship." He handed each of them a pad. "Karri I need you to download Navigation and sensors. Hunt, Helm data and logs." He motioned. "Let's go."

"Aye." Karri nodded

The trip to the bridge should have taken less time but it hadn't. It has been a series of stops and ushering people to the docking area. After what felt like eternity they made their way to the bridge which was cold and desolate. Sabastian looked around. He sighed. "I don't think I've been on a quieter bridge." He muttered. It was almost spooky.

"Sometimes I prefer the bridge like this," Malcom admitted. "No distractions, just the helm and piloting the ship into the unknown." Sitting down at the helm, he began pulling up the data logs.

Sabastian smiled. "I don't blame you. Flying solo is...well there is not better feeling." He began working on the engineering system from the bridge. "Hunt, can I ask you something?"

Looking over his shoulder, he suddenly became curious. "Go ahead, Commander."

"Do you ever just feel like taking a shuttle out and flying solo...I mean even if the ship is at warp just following behind."

"If you can't have fun, why do it? At least that's what I say." Karri said. "Same goes with supplies. If I didn't have fun, I'd lose my mind."

Sabastian smiled. "True. Can I ask you two something else?" He paused walking over to the two.

Hunt raised an eyebrow. "Go ahead."

"Sure!" Karri said. 'Ask away."

"You're both Helm and Navigation. What do you need from the command team to make things easier for you? I've been thinking a lot about what needs to change and I figured the best place to start is getting information from the team."

"Best i can say for mow is to keep on doing what you're doing. Hunt could tell you better." Karri began. 'I just got bumped up to nav. I'm coming from operations. Before that I was supply."

"And you are doing a good job." He felt the urge to tell them both. It was a feeling like a finality of saying what needed to be said. "Both of you are doing amazing."

"Thank you " Karri said

"I'm still fairly new to Arcadia," Malcom admitted. "Ask me that question again in about a month. Once I get my bearings around here, I'll be able to provide a more assessment."

He sighed. "Alright everyone. Time to get back to the shuttles. Last run. Are you ready?"

Hunt nodded in response to the question. "There isn't no time like the present."

Current time...

Sabastian smiled as the memory ended. He was so proud of the Arcadia crew. He didn’t know if he’d ever get back. Kormoth seemed to think so but he wasn’t so sure.

A loud noise drew his eye and they widened as he saw Kormoth and several Arcadia crew. “I’m…I…I’m hallucinating.”

Kormoth smiled. “No my friend. Rescue time.”

Sabastian turned to the doctor. “K…Kormoth comes with us.” He said those words right before the darkness took him.
